Memory: There were way too many things that were awesome this past year that it's so hard to choose! Finally being in the Area and being able to visit my friends in other cabins during rest hour and later at night was definitely a plus. When my cabin, Tip-It, had the humongous water balloon fight. If we forget the actual fight later on in life, evryone of us is sure to still remember how long it took to clean up every last piece of balloon. Getting up on one ski a few times was great even though I didn't get to try out the wakeboard in the shed. Oh well, maybe I'll get to this upcoming year. Winning the sign/poster for Pill Box and Wa-Klo Idol and the trip to Hampton beach were major points! Especially when we got our shirts - even though mine doesn't really fit too well anymore because it either shrunk or I grew - and when Joanna's special card game's fortune/prediction for Daniel almost came true in McDonalds there. Kit-Kat were two of the best counselors I've ever had. Our special talks/meetings weren't so great, but they showed how we matured by at least the end of the first month. Sending the care package to my bunk and some other people was fun for me, because I got to guess what each person might like or want and keep my promise to them that they would get one this year. There are many more things that I could keep rambling on about, but I won't. I miss all of you so much! Please write to me (e-mail). <3 See everyone soon!

Memory: I remember in the summer of 2001. I was in pop out three, secret side cabin. I had the best bunk mates. I remeber playing jax in the middle of the room and nobody could beet me. I told my friend Lisa that if she beat me I would give her a marshmellow. She beat me on the last day of camp.
P.S. For all of you who know and were there when I left camp in 2002 sick and was diagnosed with cancer. I want you all to know that I'm fine, out of treatment and Cancer free. I'll be attending camp this summer for 2004

Memory: The lake in the morning - perfectly calm and tranquil. Waiting to hear Miss. Kloberg read the names of those who got packages. Movies in Jen-klo. Walking arm and arm with friends. Council Fire. Cinnamon Buns on Sunday afternoon. The amazing play that the Beckers wrote...Never Never Land. The list goes on.... There is no other place on earth like Camp Wa-Klo.

Memory: My name is Caroline Pierce and i went to Waklo in 2002. Now that i look back i am not quite sure why i didnt return. Although this what i do remember.
I remember water skiin every mornin in the water which seemed freazing cold. I remember the night our bunk put shaving cream all over the floor and sliding from side to side. Joana S was my first friend at Waklo, and i will never forget u or others. THen there was Poison. Which still now two years later is the MOST FUN i have ever had. Erica R and i were Muddy Buddies and we half walked half swam through the stream. I remeber the camp fire and the songs.
These are the memories that are my favourite and that i will never ever forget.

Memory: man, i really loved my first year of waklo. i was only 10 and ready to experience anything. i met wonderful people, and missed out on the chance to stay 8 weeks :'( but i will do so in '05. my first line i spoke in my sleep last year....OH MY GOD YOU GUYS ITS A FLYING BEE. it was memorable. hahaha. i look forward to two periods of riding, and hopefully will increse my skills this year, miss all 'ya lotz, xoxo, Alisha

Memory: When i went to Camp Wa-klo...i had the best times! I met some of the coolest people also. People that i haven't talked to in years. I think about you all all the time. (LAUREN S) (Kate)(Emmly) (Sue) All the campers! I also remember when i was the wicked witch of the west...the wizzard of OZ. I also remember being scared to get into the lake. then i faced my fear and went water sking. i made it around the lake twice! i had a great time at camp wa-klo i wish i could go back! if you remember me please contact me by email.

Memory: I LOVED camp Wa-Klo soooo much and only wish we had found it when I was younger ( I aged out after only a few years.) I loved mostly the pow wows (I still sing 'WE ARE THE WHITE TRIBE MIGHTY MIGHTY WHITE TRIBE!' It makes my son crack up.) I also loved swimming and running around with Sandy,Lisa, Dawn, Cecelia, Bethany the Bugle player and all of the other girls... trying to spy on the boys camp...going to dances. But probably the best thing was putting on a show and gettting to sing and dance in front of other people for the first time.
Happy and sad things happened at camp but I always felt like it was such a safe and loving environment where I really got to be myself and grow up like I couldn't anywhere else.
Lately I wish that I could just go to camp for the summer - but I don't think I can support my family on a counselors salary. DARN! If I have a daughter for my next child I will definitely send her to Wa-Klo.
(BTW: I grew up to be an architect with my own practice working and living in NYC and CT. Married with one boy: Eli. I would love to hear from any of my fellow campmates!)
PS. I also have fond fond memories of Ms. Cocoman and am pleased to see she is still there. HI!

Memory: I so randomly decided to look up Wa-Klo and found so many familiar names! To think its been a decade since I attended! I remember little but I do remember "Turtle Rock", Camp CODY and how we all flipped that we had a dance with BOYS!, bringing my own rabbit home from Pet Care, Ms. Jensen, Fletcher, and Cocoman. I had received my first summer FREE by winning a contest thru the school. I remember them coming to my house, telling me about the camp and then returning two more years! Oh how I wish I was still that young. Wish I could find some of my old friends. I don't remember everyone but Reagan McKenzie, Courtney Powers, Grace Liu, Sarah Grizwold, Kate Marion, aah who else?! Wish there was old school photos here as well. I see some faces in the photos I remember- all counselers now (wow, Im 20.. I remember when we were all 11!)

Memory: ah... there were so many wonderful memories from camp. I think my favorite was from first month 2004, when we ( Susie, Em, Alexa, Anastasia, Sophie!) came back from six flags and there was toilet stuff ALL over the floor and then we had to evacuate the cabin. 3 of us slept in Ribbit, and 3 of us were in Dance Inn. I will always remember that night!

Memory: summa of o4 was such a blast! i had sooooo much funi cant even describe it. i met 3 new ppl. that i really like havin in ma cabin. kate, ashley, and alex...wow this summa was the best. vegetarians for eva ashley! kates weegies!! and alex..well u no everythin crazy u did...the dances.crazy hairdos,eatin the pepironi of da pizza wit jo haha gt gt. leah...ur such a jew!!dani n jo...im soo glad we got close in the last year. six flags was a blast wit u!! i luv u grls. hilltop- u gurls were sooo much fun. i wish we could of combined cabins. that wud of been awesome! we had our mad moments but it all worked out for da best! waklo 04 was a blast and i cant wait to come bac and enjoy camp for wat it is! xoxo

Memory: Of course I remember the delicious chocolat chip cookies and cinnemanrolls, in those years unknown in our country. And all the celebrations like halloween and christmas, all the songs, a lot of them I still play on the piano, the campfires, the trips and not to forget the great comfortable bed in Chatterbox (and also the mice in 1989). These summers were a wonderfull experience to discover other cultures, improve my english, in a peacefull, cosy and not to forget beautifull environment at camp Wa-Klo.If I get a chance, I'll come back some day and show my children this wonderfull spot on earth. Miss Cocoman,Fletcher and Jensen,I greet you from Holland, I don't know if you remember me, but the word gymnastics should give you a clue.

Memory: wow.. such a hard question considering i went to camp for 7 years. i remember pulling into camp for the first time and not knowing where to go. i didn't even know how to find sleepy hollow. As the years went on, i figured my way around camp. By my upper pioneer and tribe chief year(2004) i knew Wa-Klo like the back of my hand. i can't believe that i am an alumni now because when i'm at camp i just think about going back year after year. i have loved all my counselors and have made TONS of new friends through Wa-Klo. I will stop writing this before i start crying.
